Ubisoft Won't Include Physical Games In UK Collector's Editions For Upcoming Xbox One Titles
A short post on a help page found on the UK Ubisoft store website details the change. Ubisoft didn't provide a reason, but it could be related to Xbox's Smart Delivery feature, which grants access to select games on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X. Essentially, you buy a game once to play on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X. All three of these Ubisoft titles support Smart Delivery, so there's only one Collector's edition for each game that will be compatible with both Xbox consoles. Ubisoft has clarified to Polygon that this change doesn't apply to North American customers.

The change doesn't apply to PS4 versions of the Collector's editions, which will still come with physical games. Just like on Xbox, you'll be able to play your PlayStation pre-order on both the PS4 and PS5--though the box art for the game will be PS4. Ubisoft is also supporting a cross-buy system on PS4 to PS5 for technical enhancements. Unlike some of its competitors, its next-gen games will cost $60, at least at launch.
The pricey Collector's editions for Far Cry 6 ($200), Watch Dogs: Legion ($190), and Assassin's Creed Valhalla ($200) are sold exclusively at the Ubisoft Store. Unfortunately, the only one remaining in stock is Watch Dogs: Legion.
